Printing Preferences Dialog Description

See also:

Purpose

  1. Select the default PrinterShare printer, which you want to use as a recipient.
  2. Set default printing preferences for your document, such as paper size and orientation.

Printing preferences depend on printer capabilities. For example, different printers may have different paper sizes available. PrinterShare virtual printer will reflect the properties of the currently selected remote printer. Other applications will think that the virtual printer is a real one, so they will give you the same options they would give for the real printer you selected.

Global preferences

To set system default printing preferences: in "Control Panel | Printers and Faxes", right-click "PrinterShare" printer, select "Printing Preferences".

Preferences for current application

To set printing preferences for just one application, such as Notepad: select "File | Print", select "PrinterShare" printer, click "Preferences". The preferences are only in effect until you close the application.

Note: your PrinterShare account and default remote printer are always changed on global level, even when you are changing the preferences for specific application.

How do I find my printer?

One of your computers should be already configured to work with the printer in a regular way (probably, physically connected to it). On that computer, start PrinterShare console application. It will display all physical and network printers you have configured on the computer. Select required printer and click "Share".

Now the printer will be available in PrinterShare network, as long as PrinterShare client is running. You can setup the printer to be invisible to other users, or unshare it completely.
